The short version
- TAS predicts what PSA, CGC and BGS might grade a card from a photo. It is not a grading company, not affiliated with one, and a prediction is not a grade or a guarantee.
- You decide what to submit, buy or sell. We aren’t responsible for those decisions or what they cost.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; details are in the Billing & Refund Policy.
- Don’t abuse the service, the API or the limits. The Acceptable Use Policy lists what that means.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
01The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and TAS (“TAS”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the TAS website, apps and API (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Billing & Refund Policy.
If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
02Who can use TAS
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and must be the one to buy a paid plan.
You can’t use the Service if you’re barred from doing so by the law that applies to you, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
03What a prediction is — and isn’t
TAS uses an AI model to look at photos of your card for centering, surface, corner and edge flaws, and to predict the grade PSA, CGC and BGS might assign, with an estimated value. Please read this part carefully, because it is the most important one:
- A prediction is not a grade. Only a grading company that physically examines the card can grade it. TAS sees only what your photo shows — not the back unless you photograph it, not flaws hidden by glare or blur, and not whether the card is authentic.
- No guarantee of any grade or outcome. A card predicted as a 9 can come back lower. We make no promise that a prediction will match an actual grade.
- Not an appraisal or financial advice. Value estimates are AI estimates, and market prices shown in the Carddex come from third parties and may be out of date. None of it is investment, tax or financial advice.
- Not affiliated. TAS is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PSA, CGC, Beckett (BGS), TCGplayer, Cardmarket, or The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures or GAME FREAK. Their names are used only to describe what TAS predicts or where data comes from.
- Not an authentication service. TAS does not tell you whether a card is genuine.
You are responsible for any decision to submit, buy, sell or price a card, and for any fees you pay to anyone else.
04Your account
You need an account for most features. Give us an email address you control, keep your password secret, and tell us promptly at kyleyeung6@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account unless it happened because of our failure.
One account per person. Creating extra accounts to get more free scans is not allowed.
Demo accounts (from a demo code) are for trying TAS out. They can be reset, limited or removed at any time, and anything saved in them may be lost.
You can export your data or delete your account at any time from Account settings.
05Scan allowances and limits
Each plan includes a daily number of AI grades, shown on the pricing page. Allowances reset every day at midnight UTC and don’t roll over. The free plan includes 3 grades a day with a 10-second gap between grades.
Grading a card requires an account.
Promotional scans. From time to time we offer extra scans — for example the launch-week bonus of 50 grades per account, usable for 7 days from our public launch. Promotional scans are used after your daily allowance, expire when the promotion ends, have no cash value, and are limited to one per person; creating extra accounts to collect them is not allowed. The launch bonus goes to the first account opened from a given network.
One account per person. Each email inbox can hold one account (address variations such as added “+tags” count as the same inbox), temporary-email addresses are not accepted, a limited number of accounts can be opened from one network per day, and the free plan’s daily scans are shared across all free accounts using the same network connection.
API calls draw on the same daily allowance as the website. We may apply further rate limits to protect the Service, and we’ll tell you when a limit is reached rather than silently failing.
06Paid plans and billing
Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in US dollars through Stripe. They renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Prices, refunds, failed payments and price changes are covered in the Billing & Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
07The API
Paid plans include a personal API key for /api/v1/scan. Free accounts may use a shared key that is pooled with other free accounts; scans through a shared key aren’t attributed to your account.
- Keep your key secret. Anyone with it can spend your allowance.
- Don’t resell, sublicense or offer the API’s output as your own grading service, and don’t present it as a grade from TAS or any grading company.
- We may revoke a key that is leaked or used in breach of these terms, and we may change or version the API. We’ll try to give notice of breaking changes.
08Your photos and data
You keep ownership of the photos you upload and the notes you write. You give us a limited licence to host, copy, process and transmit them only as needed to run the Service for you — for example, sending a photo to our AI provider to produce your prediction, or storing a preview when you save a card to your collection.
Only upload photos you have the right to use. We also use the numerical measurements from scans (not the photos) to improve a small experimental model, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
09Acceptable use
You agree to follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: don’t get around limits, don’t attack or scrape the Service, don’t upload anything unlawful, and never use a TAS prediction to misrepresent a card’s condition or grade to a buyer.
10Third-party data and trademarks
Card details, images and market prices come from third parties, including the Pokémon TCG API, TCGdex, TCGplayer and Cardmarket. We don’t control that data and can’t promise it is complete, accurate or current. Each price is labelled with its source and the date it was gathered.
Pokémon and all related names and images are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK and The Pokémon Company. PSA, CGC and BGS are trademarks of their respective owners. They appear on TAS for identification only.
11Availability and changes
TAS is a young product. We may add, change or remove features, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable — for example when an AI or data provider is down. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, you can cancel, and the Billing Policy explains when a refund applies.
12Disclaimers
Except as stated in these terms, and to the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded by agreement.
13Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, TAS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost value of cards, grading or shipping fees, or trading losses, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any prediction or price.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.
These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14Your responsibility for misuse
If you use TAS in breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to break the law or infringe someone else’s rights — for example by presenting a TAS prediction as an official grade when selling a card — you agree to cover the reasonable costs, losses and legal fees TAS incurs as a result of claims brought by others. This doesn’t apply to the extent a loss was caused by us, and it doesn’t limit any rights you have under consumer law.
15Suspension and termination
You can stop using TAS and delete your account at any time. If you have a paid plan, deleting the account cancels it immediately.
We may suspend or close an account, or revoke API keys, if it is used in breach of these terms or to harm the Service or other people. Where reasonable we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first. If we close a paid account without a breach on your part, we’ll refund the unused part of your current period.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we’ll publish the new version here and email the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect; until we have, the previous terms keep applying to you. If you keep using TAS after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
17Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of governing law not set, and the courts there have jurisdiction, except where the consumer law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim or rely on protections locally.
